MoD's Tender for Supply of 194 Microlight Aircraft
In 2011 Ministry of Defence (MoD), Govt. of India had floated a tender for supply of 194 Microlight Aircraft for various armed forces. These aircraft will be procured to be used by Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Navy (IN) & National Cadet Corps (NCC) and operated from 111 bases spread across the length & breadth of the country. Thrust Aviation has taken part in the tender process with CT Supralight Aircraft manufactured by Flight Design, Germany. The technical proposal was evaluated by the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) of the MoD. On successful evaluation of the technical proposal, the MoD has conducted extensive Field Evaluation Trials (FETs) and Maintenance Evaluation Trials (METs) of the aircraft in Indian conditions. The CT Supralight aircraft has been declared to be compliant with the Joint Services Qualitative Requirements (JSQRs) of the MoD. Thrust Aviation's CT Supralight is one of the fore-runners in the tender. The Commercial Proposals are yet to be evaluated by the MoD for declaring the successful product & bidder.
